The Dampit humidifier provides long term humidity protection for acoustic guitars. It guards against cracking and warping and makes a great accessory for any acoustic guitar. * Super size guitar humidifier * Plastic sound hole cover included * Humidity check "meter" included 14.22 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000AC6DVS?ie=UTF8&tag=ugol-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B000AC6DVS The dampit guitar humidifiers are great. They are simple and effective. I don't bother with the provided plastic "hole cover" - I just place the humidifier inside the guitar while it's in it's case - that way it humidifies the whole instrument. A word of caution, as is clearly stated in the instructions, make sure to wring out and shake off excess water to avoid staining the unfinished wood inside the guitar. I've never had this problem, but I've read from other folks who mustn't have followed the instructions - and have had a problem. There are other, more expensive, more elaborate humidifying systems out there - but in my opinion, this one out-performs them and is much simpler to use! It's a great product. 5 Star I live in the high mountain desert and my home (and guitars) are subjected to temperature extremes despite my having some measure of climate control. I noticed that one of my acoustics was slowing losing its arch in the soundboard and I became concerned that the dry air was destroying this great instrument. After reviewing material on the web about maintaining proper humidity in the guitar itself and viewing a demonstration on how the use of this product had the capacity to restore a dry or drying guitar, I purchased this product with an eye to prevent any further deterioration in my guitar. I am pleased to say that it works. At first I noticed that the guitar was not getting any dryer and the apparent change in the soundboard stopped. After about a month, the arch has come back into the top. I am glad I bought this product. If you choose to use this product, follow directions and get some information from the web (Taylor Guitars for one) on how to tell if the instrument is dry and what to look for as humidity is restored. My only complaint is that the measuring system to determine the level of humidity leaves quite a bit to be desired. Check your local Radio Shack or research and shop for on Amazon an easier to use meter. 5 Star Best on the market if you ask me. My guitars are thankful. Why buy one when you can have two? You won't be sorry. Just make sure to squeeze all water out. 5 Star ----------------------- This Planet Waves Humidifying system protects your acoustic guitar from damage even in the driest conditions. But they need to know that they must use only distilled water and not tap or any kind of mineral water - as they will clog the pores of the foam. 5 star This compact humidifier is easily filled with an included plastic syringe. If you don't over-fill, it will not drip, and you can simply place it in your case instead of the usual sponge. 4 star This thing works fine, as long as you are a patient person. It takes some time to fill the sponge with water from the syringe a few drops at a time. Also the fact that it is in between the strings makes the strings go out of tune a bit because its bending them. The sponge also becomes discolored. The good thing is that the humidity will reach the neck since it is not enclosed in the body like other humidifiers. All in all its not too bad. 4 Star This item works well and very easy to use. The only thing that I can say is that I wish it would stay damp a little longer than it does. I live in Kansas and, it has been very dry this winter, I will have to resoak and wring out the sponge about every 3 days, not really that bad because it is so easy to do and, really I guess that I wouldn't it wet constantly, that could cause a whole set of other problems. Very easy to use, fairly inexpensive and,the sponge can be reused over and over. Good product. 4.5 Stars I have this item and it is the updated version, replaceable sponge feature. It just slips in the soundhole, between the strings, no effort at all. Now remember that the sponge will drip into the bottom of container, so don't overdo it with the water. Also, use purified water for best results as tap water can grow molds and bacteria. Over all it is a neat little gem, since at this price it does not have a humidistat, you can get one cheap at a department store in home heat&cool section for a few bucks. I love the simplicity of it, seems durable too! I bought a spare so my new seagull guitar stays nice. 4.5 stars -------------------------- Herco Guitar Humidifier Large clay filled plastic container (1 5/8" high x 2" diameter) helps prevent drying out and cracking of guitars, violins, cellos and other wooden instruments. * For Wooden Instruments * Prevents Drying Out and Cracking 7.77 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BYPJ1U?ie=UTF8&tag=ugol-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B000BYPJ1U My guitar stays in good shape using this humidifier. It is recommended by my luthier that has over 40 years of experience. 5 Star This is the biggest piece of garbage - does not work at all. It is a plastic little container that has clay inside. You are supposed to fill with water for 5 minutes (which it is supposed to absorb) well 24 hours later the water is still sitting on top of this hard clay - will not absorb. I bought 6 of these and none of them work - save your money and buy something that works.....the manufacturer should know about this problem, but obviously has done nothing to remedy it. I would give it 0 stars if I could. 1 Star This comes without directions so it might be useful to know: the correct way to use this is to drop it in a cup of water for five minutes. Take it out, wipe it off, and pop it in your case! Repeat every few days. Will never leak. I like it. 5 Stars --------------------- Oasis OH-1 with OH-2 Digital Hydrometer 44.95 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0018A21QM?ie=UTF8&tag=ugol-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B0018A21QM Oasis OH-1 Original Guitar HumidifierYou can see when Oasis is ready for refillLong lasting humidificationWon't leak due to overfillingTwo levels of leak protectionStabilized to Never Touch the Body of Your InstrumentOH-2 Digital Hygrometer w/clipGuaranteed for 5 full yearsSuper-slim profile design with secure Velcro mount fits anywhereAdvanced humidity sensor maintains exceptional accuracy for yearsRecords high/low temperaturesMeasures temperature in C or FOn/off switch Oasis OH-1 Original Guitar HumidifierThe body of Oasis is made from a specially designed fabric that allows water vapor (but not water) to pass through it. As the vapor transmission takes place, a vacuum is created and Oasis shrinks to compensate for the loss of water. By watching the Oasis shrink, you can determine when it is ready for refill. When refilling, you don't have to guess when it is full. Simply unscrew the black cap, fill with water to the top of the container and replace the cap. Once sealed, the watertight container is your first line of defense against leaks. Humigel, the super absorbent polymer crystals inside Oasis, are your second line of defense. Humigel captures up to 500 times its weight in water in an absorbent gel matrix.Like other sound hole humidifiers, Oasis fits between the strings of your instrument. The materials that touch your strings are relatively soft and will not scratch your strings. A blue polyurethane stabilizing bar fits over the neck of the humidifier. Once positioned in the sound hole, the stabilizing bar lies across the guitar strings to ensure even weight distribution. Oasis never touches the body of your instrument. For normal seasonal humidification (down to 25% relative humidity), most guitarists can rely on the original Blue Oasis. The Hygrometer increases the cost but in my view it's well worth it to know the humidity level!!! 4 Star Bought this for my Breedlove C250/EF. Within a week of getting it I noticed a huge improvement in my action and playability. Easy to use, easy to fill, and lasts about a weke on average. The digital hydrometer is useful to monitor the relative humidity of your guitar case, but you have to turn it on and leave it in a closed case for a few minutes to get an accurate reading. No real complaints about this. No leakage, doesn't touch your guitar, no complaints! 5 Star I bought this humidifier for my Gibson SJ-100and it is the easiest, least messy, and most effective unit I could have asked for. My son's Yamaha had a small crack in the body and the Oasis OH1 made it disappear. I would recommend it to anyone. 5 Star --------------------- Oasis OH-6 Case Humidifier with OH-2 Digital Hygrometer 44.95 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00189Y832?ie=UTF8&tag=ugol-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00189Y832 Oasis' OH-6 instrument humidifier keeps your guitar, or any other wooden instrument, in prime condition with the correct level of humidity. Finding a secure way to attach the humidifier to the inside of the case, and still have it easily removed and re-attached, was no small challenge. With proven technology, the Blue Oasis humidifier, Oasis inserted two neodymium magnets in the seam of the humidifier.
